China launches new satellite for atmospheric, space environment monitoring

China successfully launched a satellite for environmental monitoring from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Wednesday.

A Long March-6 rocket, carrying the satellite Yunhai-3 02, blasted off at 6:51 a.m. Beijing Time. The satellite has entered the preset orbit. It will be mainly used for tasks such as atmospheric and marine environment detection, space environment monitoring, disaster prevention and reduction, and scientific experiments. The launch marks the 514th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
