To value the gratitude of teachers who are the Five Infinite Venerables in accord with Myanmar tradition and custom and to turn out high-qualified teachers, the World Teachers’ Day is celebrated across the nation.
Myanmar has observed the World Teachers’ Day celebration since 2002 and the Magway region celebrated the event on Wednesday.
Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and the regional ministers, the patron of the Region Sports Federation and members, the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, departmental officials, the region education officer, teachers and students attended the ceremony.
At the event, the Region Chief Minister read out the message of the SAC Chairman, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing marking the celebration and the Director of the Education Officer Office in Magway region read out the combined message of 5 United Nations Affiliate Organizations.
The Region Chief Minister, the regional ministers and officials presented prizes to winners in essay and poem contests and prose writing contest in commemoration of the 2022 World Teachers’ Day. The Chief Minister and party also presented honourary cash to the teachers who entertained with the song, “Myat Saya”.
