A tragic incident involving the demise of a Sayadaw and injuries to another Sayadaw and a driver was reported on June 19th.

However, on June 20th, a video clip by Kan Thone Sint Sayadaw, who was injured during the incident, began circulating on social media platforms. The news report was initially based on facts submitted by security forces at various levels, but these accounts have been found to contradict the statements made by the injured Sayadaw. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation, and appropriate actions will be taken accordingly.

Leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, provided clarification on the incident. He explained that the Nganzun-Myotha area has been experiencing various destructive acts by the PDF terrorists under the disguise as villagers. Prior to the June 19th incident, five PDF terrorists attacked the Myotha Police Station, riding motorcycles along Myotha Village Road.

This attack resulted in the deaths of a police officer and an innocent civilian. Earlier on the day of incident, PDF terrorists abducted a passenger bus traveling between Simeekon and Mandalay near Kanma. Consequently, security forces initiated operations in the area, splitting into two units. One unit engaged in an armed exchange with PDF terrorists near Phaungkataw Village, causing the terrorists to flee towards Kanma Village.

Meanwhile, another security unit encountered a privately licensed vehicle near Kanma, and attempted to stop it for a security check.

When the vehicle failed to stop, the security forces fired at it from behind. Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun emphasized the challenges faced by security forces in the area, where PDF terrorists often disguise themselves as local residents, making it difficult to distinguish between enemies and civilians.

A detailed investigation is underway, and a committee involving high-ranking officials has been formed to oversee the inquiry. Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun assured that appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
