Coordination meeting: Development of edible oil and cotton sectors discussed

A coordination meeting on acceleration of producing edible oil crops for the domestic sufficiency and the development of cotton plantation and textile and apparel industry was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Industry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 23rd April and attended by the Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, Directors General, Managing Director, Deputy permanent secretary, Deputy Directors General, General Managers and officials.

Moreover, the staff officers of the Department of industrial supervision and inspection and the factory In-Charges from the regions and states attended the meeting through the Virtual system.At the meeting, the Union Minister clarified the guidance given by the Chairman of the State Administration Council during his inspection tours to the regions and states regarding with the acceleration of producing oil crops for the domestic sufficiency, milling the yielded oil crops fully, plantation and production of cotton crop and the development of textile and apparel industry.

The Union Minister also explained the implementation of the ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation to achieve the target yielding rate by designating zones of oil crops, to carry out to mill edible oil fully with the remaining oil crops from export to abroad by the Ministry of Industry and gave other necessary instructions.

Next, the Director General of the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, Managing Director of No (3) Heavy Industry and the attendees to the meeting reported the work implementations in related sectors. In responding to the reports, the Union Minister instructed to carry out the tasks by drawing practicable plans to achieve systematically and gave a speech of conclusion.
