Covid-19 Surveillance: One More Confirmed Case Found On 6th April

The Ministry of Health and Sports issued updated information about COVID-19 surveillance at 8:00 pm, Monday.

According to the news release of the Ministry, there were 31 new persons under investigation between 6 pm on 5th April and 6 pm on 6th April. According to the laboratory results of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) on specimens from a total of 46 persons under investigation and quarantined persons on 6th April has shown one positive case of Covid-19 and the remaining 45 persons were tested negative.

The confirmed Case 22 patient is a 51-year-old Myanmar woman living in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region. She left America for the Republic of Korea by air together with the confirmed case-21 patient on 24th March.

She arrived at Thailand via the Republic of Korea in the evening of 25th March. On 26th March, she arrived at the Yangon International Airport via Thailand. While keeping quarantine at a hotel in Botahtaung township, she stayed together with case-21 pateint in the same room.

She was transffered to the Waibargi Specialist hospital and her specimens were taken for laboratory test. Currently, her health condition is well.

Out of 21 COVID-19 positive cases, 1 is at Tiddim hospital in Chin State, 12 at Waibargi Specialist hospital, 1 at Kandawnadi hospital in Mandalay, 1 at Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital, 1 at Lashio People’s Hospital and 3 from Paukkaung Township at the Pyi Township hospital in Bago Region. Health conditions of 19 positive patients are good and one patient at Waibargi hospital is being isolated for intensive care.
