Thousands of people attended the Thimphu Tshechu which takes place annually in the capital city of Bhutan.
The festival is celebrated on the tenth day of a lunar month in the Bhutanese calendar, and commemorates teachings of Guru Rinpoche, a Buddhist master who introduced Buddhism to the country.
Crowds applauded as dancers wearing silk robes and masks performed traditional dances originating from the tantric teachings of Guru Rinpoche.
