Development for dairy production: Workshop on “Dairy Cattle Breeding and Production”

Workshop on “Dairy Cattle Breeding and Production” was held at the Ministry of Agricultural, Livestock and Irrigation in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 26th March and attended by Union Minister U Min Naung, Deputy Ministers and officials, responsible persons from Myanmar Livestock Federation, dairy cattle breeding entrepreneurs and the dairy products producing entrepreneurs.

In his opening remark, the Union Minister said that the workshop is organized to discuss and find solution among the relevant departments, dairy cattle breeding entrepreneurs, breeding and production entrepreneurs and experts in the field on the challenges facing in the dairy cattle breeding and production to be able to reduce the import of milk and dairy products and produce quality met milk and dairy products domestically.

For the development of livestock industry, the livestock industry implementation project will be carried out with 32 billion Kyats of the Promotion of Country’s Economy Revolving Fund. The poultry farming, laying duck farming, pig husbandry are being implemented in Nay Pyi Taw, 6 regions and 4 states with initial allocated fund of 20 billion Kyats.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, dairy cattle farm, beef cattle farm, laying chicken, sheep and goat farming will be implemented stage by stage by investing initial investment and sharing production cost with involving fund from the Country’s Economy Promotion Fund.

Next, the Deputy ministers and attendee entrepreneurs suggested for the harmonious development along the chain of breeding and production and public-private partnership.
