Disaster preparedness: Rakhine State CM inspected Disaster preparedness

Chairman of Rakhine State Natural Disaster Management Committee Chief Minister U Htein Lin together with the State Government members and departmental officials viewed round the storm disaster awareness campaign and distribution of pamphlets on the knowledge of the storm disaster and market activities at the Sittwe Myoma Market, Shwe Pya market and Thechaung market in the morning on Saturday.

First, the Chief Minister and party viewed the conducting awareness on the information of depression issued by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology and the distribution of pamphlets on the knowledge of the storm disaster in the collaboration of the Department of natural disaster management, Fire Service Department, Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Body, Women’s Affairs Committee and Red Cross Society and the market activities at the Sittwe Myoma Market, cordially greeted the local residents and explained the situation of storm forming. The Chief Minister and party also inspected the completion of new meat and fish market and a wharf near the market.

After that, the Chief Minister paid homage to the presiding Sayadaw of Maramagyi old monastery in Thechaung Village and offered the offertories and cash donation to the Sayadaw.

Later, the Chief Minister met with the local residents at storm shelter building in Village and explained the situation of storm forming and inspected the preparation of relief items to provide the persons who may displace there, it’s reported.
