Efforts for libraries development: Kachin State CM attended reading promotion campaign

The Kachin State libraries development and reading habit promotion campaign was held at the indoor stadium in State sports ground in Myitkyina Township at 9 AM on 24th May and attended by the Chief Minister U Khet Htein nan, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers and wives, departmental officials, responsible officials from the civil societies, trainees from the Education Degree College, Nursing and Midwife Training School and basic education students.

First, the students from the basic education High schools performed with the song “Let’s go to the Library of Knowledge Bank” and the Chief Minister gave a remark.

Next, the Video clop on libraries development and reading habit promotion activities and the Chief Minister and State Ministers provided cash of honor to the speakers for the reading habit promotion including professor/head of Department Dr Sanda Lwin (Writer San) from Myanmar Department of Myitkyina University and Writer Akyi Ko Ko and the students who performed the songs.

Then, the students performed with the song “Let’s move forward to the comprehensive education” and the Chief Minister and attendees viewed the display of knowledge and aesthetic books, magazines, journals and child literature and mobile library.

After that, Dr Sanda Lwin (Writer San) and Writer Akyi Ko Ko gave a literary talk.

Then, the Chief Minister and party visited Myitkyina Township No (1) Basic Education High School and inspected collection of books and journals and the reading of the students at the school library of Thutayadana library, provided one million Kyats of school library fund and books and the State libararies Foundation also donated books and journals worth 200,000 Kyats.

Later, the Chief Minister and party attended the providing basic foodstuff to the temporary displaced households by the National Disaster Management Committee and State Government and the Chief Minister gave words of encouragement to the families.

During the providing relief assistance, the 97 bags of rice were provided by the National Disaster Management Committee and 97 boxes of instant noodle by the State Government for 97 temporary displaced households.

The Chief Minister fulfilled requirements coordinating with the relevant officials and provided 2.1 million Kyats for the construction of roof for the temporary displaced households.
