Flood In Mon State: Low-Lying Areas In Mawlamyine Inundated

The low-lying areas in Mon State have been flooded in Mawlamyine of Mon State because of torrential rains starting from Thursday evening.

Zeyar Myaing, Shwe Pyi Aye, Shwe Taung , Taung Waing, Thiri Myaing, Thiri Mingalar, Pabedan, Mat Karay and Hlaing wards in Mawlamyine have been inundated starting Friday morning. The strong wind also blew and is caused to temporary power shortage and damaged roads and bridges.

The traffics have blocked at the Mawlamyine-Thanlwin bridge because water overflowing on the Highway. The rescue teams are also undertaking relief measures for flood affected houses.
