Afghan authorities said the latest floods in the country have killed at least 50 people and destroyed thousands of homes on Saturday. They said heavy rain that started on Friday caused floods in the central province of Ghor.

Muddy floodwater inundating roads and shops filled with merchandise were covered in mud. Local media said more rain is expected on Sunday in Ghor and 15 other provinces, raising concerns about further damage. Just over a week ago, Baghlan and other provinces in the north were also hit by floods.
