Heatwave hits Japan

Japan has been experiencing another scorching day nationwide on Monday. The temperature already topped 35 degrees Celsius in many areas of the country.Japan's Meteorological Agency said high atmospheric pressure covering areas around Japan is the reason temperatures have kept rising.

The temperature had hit 37.7 degrees in Hatoyama Town, near Tokyo. Weather officials said the heat is likely to continue through Friday in areas from northern to western Japan.

Meanwhile, weather officials say atmospheric conditions are expected to become unstable in northern and eastern Japan through Tuesday due to a cold air mass and temperature rises during the daytime.It is expected to bring thunderstorms to some areas along mountains. People are advised to stay alert for possible lightning, gusts, hail and torrential rain.
