Historic Simas or ordination halls: MDY CM visited historic ordination halls

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung accompanied by Region Government Ministers and officials visited four historic Simas or ordination halls in Mandalay out of 27 Sima or ordination halls consecrated by the leading of Shin Arahan who endeavored for the flourishing of Buddha Sasana in Bagan during the reign of King Anawrahta.

The Chief Minister and officials visited Sun Rise Sima or ordination hall in Patheingyi Township, Noon Sima in Chan Aye Tharzan Township, Sun Set Sima in Aung MyayTharzan Township and Midnight Sima in Pyigyidagun Township, paid homage to the Buddha images venerated in those Simas, offered candle light and water, viewed round the inside and outside of the precinct of Simas and gave necessary instruction for the cleaning to the officials and fulfilled requirements.

The Chief Minister offered the offertories and cash donation to the presiding Sayadaws during visit to the Simas and took the advices regarding with the Simas, it’s reported.
