Illegal trade: Consumer goods, industrial materials and vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. On 2 February, four items of goods including 1,980 kilogrammes of Gel Ink Pen and a Howo Sino Tractor and trailer, on Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin highway were seized.

On the same day, 1,100 kilogrammes of Cotton Fabric without official documents and a Toyota Dyna were confiscated at Mayanchaung checkpoint. On 4 February, four kinds of goods including 15 cartons of Golden Mountain Oyster Sause and a Toyota Hilux Pick Up from a vehicle driven from Hpa-an to Bago were seized.

Similarly, 200 cartons of Singha beer, 200 cartons of Lactasoy, 198 cartons of Lipovitan and 15 cartons of Bingo Star cat feeds and a Mitsubishi Fuso without official documents were nabbed at Thanlwin Bridge checkpoint. Furthermore, 99 Loujia brand motorcycles and a Dong Feng vehicle seized in Myayni truck terminal in Muse. Therefore, 11 arrests (at an estimated value of 282.836 million Kyats) were made from 2 to 4 February, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
