Inspection tour: SAC Chairman inspected Fisheries Institute (Tunte)

The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accompanied by the council joint-secretary Lt. Gen. Ye Win Oo, council members, Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Ministers, Yangon Chief Minister U Soe Thein, senior military officials from the office of the commander in chief, commander of Yangon Command Ma-J Gen. Nyunt Win Swe, Mayor and officials inspected the status of fish breeding farms in Shwe Mu Yin region in Tunte Township of Yangon Region in the morning on February 5.

First, the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chairman of Myanma Economic Holdings Public Limited Lt. Gen. HsanOo and Commander of Yangon Command clarified the fish breeding farms implemented in Shwe Mu Yin region by the Yangon Command and Myanma Economic Holdings Public Limited, selling the harvested fishes to the Tatmadawmen, departmental personnel, war veterans and markets with cheaper price, production of fish feed as well as other livestock feeds by the Yangon command’s livestock feed processing factory, stages of implementations for the livestock breeding and the construction of Kin Ywa-KhayanWa-Yay Twin Kone-Kwin Pauk Concrete Road for the quick and smooth transportation of fishes to the markets.

In responding to the clarifications, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister instructed necessaries including agricultural and livestock breeding zones are implemented for the production of agricultural and livestock products so that the region can be provided with sufficient meat, fish and vegetables and to be consumed by the residents with the affordable price. The implementation of fish breeding in Shwe Mu Yin region is aimed at meeting the fish requirement in the region. It’s better to produce the fish to meet the requirement in the region instead of importing from Ayeyarwady and other regions etc. Next, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party inspected the fish breeding in the ponds and gave necessary instructions.

Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party met with the administrative in-charges, teachers and students at the Fisheries Institute (Tunte) under the fisheries department of the Ministry of Agriculture, livestock and irrigation.First, the director general of fisheries department U Wei Lin Maung clarified the subjects given in the institute theoretically and practically, brief history of Fisheries Institute (Tunte), construction of facilities, providing assistances for the students by the state, arrangements for the further studies at the universities and colleges and the union minister for agriculture, livestock and irrigation U Min Naung supplemented necessaries.

Afterward, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister gave a remark regarding with the fisheries institute, to be opened the agriculture, livestock, technologies and industrial classes at the high schools in 50 districts across the country etc. Next, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister provided teaching and learning aids for the students and cash assistances and the principal Daw Moe Thuzar Maung accepted.Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party inspected around the Fisheries Institute (Tunte) and gave the necessary instructions upon the reports of the responsible officials.
