Introducing application: Vehicle Monitoring System & Tracking Mobile Application

The Department of Trade under the Ministry of Commerce was held an introducing event of Vehicle Monitoring System & Tracking Mobile Application at Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Yangon on 5th February.

At the event, the Vehicle Monitoring System& Tracking Mobile Application was introduced with presentation included about to apply and retrieve the cargo permit via online for exports trucks that already approved border exports by the trade net 2.0 system, and Vehicle Monitoring System & Tracking Mobile Application to be use to check the trade route at various vehicle checkpoint.

Yan Naing lwin, Director, Department of Trade, said " We provided online system to save time for merchants and exporters. Before the online system, exporters need to obtain permit for oil crops such as soybeans, corn and sesame from the relevant offices in advance system."

Ye Mon, Assistance Director, Department of Trade (Information Division), said " Exporters can apply for the gate pass certificate from the new system of vehicle Monitoring system after obtaining a border export license. They can apply the certificate under three categories. They can apply new permit to carry goods, re-apply via online to change the drivers and vehicles along the way for some reasons, and apply for replace certificate to change from the large vehicle to small vehicle on the way. Also exporters can check from online application the status of vehicles passing through the gates."

Lan Sen Oo, Director, Department of Trade, said " By using this system, exporters can check via system that their export vehicles status at checkpoint along the way. However, they cannot check every gate yet from this system. At every check points, the relevant officials will conduct the inspections."

Currently, the permit to carry goods with QR code is being used for a trial period until 10th February on the Muse, Myawaddy and Chin Shwe Haw border trade routes with the free of charge.
