Japan PM on boosting economy while fighting COVID

The Japanese prime minister on Tuesday emphasised his plans to improve the economy while tackling COVID-19 in a speech to a virtual gathering hosted by the World Economic Forum. 

Fumio Kishida emphasized the need for Japan to encourage startups and fund digital technology including the development of "optical fiber and 5G related infrastructure." Kishida also pledged to promote social, industrial and energy reforms to meet the target of reaching carbon neutrality in 2050.
