Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday endorsed a free and open Indo-Pacific to prevent the global community from divisions and contentions.

Kishida, in his speech on Monday in New Delhi, pledged 100 million USD of contribution into the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund as part of a plan to promote connectivity between that region and the South Asia and the Pacific island nations, while creating an industrial value chain linking the Bay of Bengal and India’s northern region. Kishida also announced plans to put more than 75 billion USD into projects in the Indo-Pacific region by 2030.
