

Police say at least six people are dead and 24 were wounded in a shooting at a July Fourth parade in a Chicago suburb, and officers are searching for a suspect who likely fired on the festivities from a rooftop.
Chris Covelli, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman said "So the roof was a business and it looks like access to the roof via a ladder in an alley was unsecured."
Highland Park Police Commander urged people to shelter in place as authorities search for the suspect, described as a white male wearing a white or blue T-shirt.
Joe Schrage,Fire Chief, Highland Park said "There were gunshot wounds and it varied from abdomen to limbs and such, but the crews were on scene very quickly. There were bystanders as well that rendered aid as well. They were quick to tie tourniquets and do bleeding control. “
Police have not released any details about the victims.
