Lightning strikes football pitch in northern France, killing one

A man was killed and another seriously injured by lightning when it struck a sports pitch in northern France during a training session on Thursday evening. The man who died was a coach at a local amateur football club. Both he and the seriously injured player, who was transported to a nearby hospital, were aged around 30, the prefecture has stated.
