MCCT Program: Cash Provided For Pregnant Women And Children

The Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided cash assistance for pregnant women and mother of children up to 2 years of age in Pintaya township of Danu Self-Administered zone in southern Shan State on Thursday.

The donation ceremony was held at the General Administration Department in Pintaya township and Chairman of Leading Body of Danu Self-Administered Zone U Akar Linn gave a speech. The Maternal and Child Cash Transfer Programme (MCCT)is conducted with the aim for improving nutrition for mothers and children, health awareness and human resource development and called for having notorious food with the cash assistance and using the assistance effectively for the health care of pregnant women and children. 

Later, Chairman of Leading Body of Danu Self-Administered Zone and members, the Chairman of township Administrative body and chairman of Pindaya Township Maternal and Child Welfare Association presented cash assistance, respectively. At the ceremony, a total of over 115.21 million kyats were provided for 832 pregnant women and 1,860 children aged up 2 years, totaling 2,692.
