Media Cooperation: MoI Union Minister receives Yunnan delegation

The Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn received a delegation led by Ms. Zeng Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Head of Publicity Department at the meeting hall of the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 26th September.

At the meeting, media cooperation between the two countries and promotion of cooperation with media of Yunnan Province, people to people friendliness and understanding apart from the governments of the two countries, more collaboration in the Television and printed media as well as new media sector and the political and commercial sector were friendly discussed.

After the meeting, the Union Minister and the member of the Standing Committee of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Head of Publicity Department exchanged memorable gifts. Next, the Union Minister hosted luncheon to the delegation at Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the morning, the delegation paid a study visit to MRTV in Tatkone and was welcome by the Director General U Ye Naing and officials and the people of national races from the MRTV-NRC Channel. Then, they discussed the media cooperation between the two countries and exchanged memorable gifts.

After that, they viewed around broadcasting news at the MRTV News Channel Studio and enjoyed recoding of song performance of the staff of MRTV at the Auditorium hall.

Later, they viewed TV documentary of the history of MRTV and the Diamond Jubilee Museum and the machines that were used in broadcasting processes in successive eras, live broadcast vehicles, instruments, old recording discs and other utensils displayed at the 40 booths.

In the afternoon, the visiting Yunnan delegation visited Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) and viewed around jades, finished gems products, jewelries and pearl lots displayed at the museum. In the evening, the visiting delegation left for Yangon via Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
