Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung met with Ministry’s athletes who will compete in the 5th National Sports Festival at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister outlined the meeting's objectives: addressing the athletes' needs and difficulties, showcasing proud athletes of the nation and nurturing promising young talents. He emphasized the SAC Chairman's guidance to promote sports as a means of fostering patriotism, national pride, and overall health.

Following this guidance, the ministry has organized monthly sports competitions throughout 2024 and is providing opportunities for exceptional athletes to compete at both ministerial and national levels. The Union Minister also discussed plans for systematic training from coaches and urged athletes to compete with strong sportsmanship and a determined effort to win medals.

The relevant official then reported on the preparatory activities, and the Deputy Minister followed with additional discussions based on these reports. The Ministry of Labor will compete in four sports—Sepak Takraw, futsal, golf, and athletics at the upcoming fifth National Sports Festival.
