Mekong-Lancang Cooperation: Meeting on Traditional Dance Festival of Mekong-Lancang

A coordination meeting was held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for the Traditional Dance Festival of Mekong-Lancang. This meeting on the Festival to be held with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund began with an address by Chairman of the Leading Committee on Organizing the Traditional Dance Festival Union Minister U Ko Ko.

In his address, the Union Minister stressed that the objectives of the Mekong-Lancang cooperation which are to support the socio-economic development of the countries in the Mekong region and increase prosperity, to achieve sustainable development and reduce the development gap, to support the establishment of the ASEAN Community, to continue implementation of the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Program in 2030 and to increase cooperation between developing countries (South-South Cooperation).

Regarding the Traditional Dance Festival of Mekong-Lancang, it will be held virtually, the Union Minister added. The meeting continued with discussions on preparations for the Festival. With the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund, regarding arts, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture will have to implement 3 programmes including the Traditional Dance Festival of Mekong-Lancang.
