Mon National Day: Commemoration ceremony held in Dawei

A ceremony for the 76th Anniversary Mon National Day was held at the City Hall in Dawei of Taninthayi Region on Sunday.

Chief Minister U Myat Ko and the Regional Ministers formally opened the commemorative Archway. The Chief Minister later made a speech, saying that the regional government is emphasizing for preventing the extinction of traditional culture and customs of national races residing in the region.

He urged all to strive for promoting the national interest of their own races and religion. It was followed by reading of the message sent by Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee (Central) on the 76th anniversary Mon National Day.
