A bottle of The Macallan Adami 1926, said to be the most valuable whisky in the world, will be auctioned at Sotheby's on 18 November with an estimate of value of £1.2 million which would be a new record for a bottle of wine and spirits.
Jonny Fowle, Head of Whisky at Sotheby's, noted that acquiring this bottle was exceptionally challenging. It was only accessible through limited channels, primarily directly from Macallan for their elite customers or occasionally through auction purchases. Sotheby's has revealed that the 40 bottles from the 1926 cask were labeled in unique ways.
