Novel Coronavirus: Preventive Measures Conducted At Border Gate In Rikhawdar

As a preventive measure against 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) which was first identified in Wuhan City of the People’s Republic of China, the health screening has being conducted at the entry-exit gates of Myanmar-India border in Rikhawdar, Chin State as of 27th January.

A team led by a medical in-charge of Rikhawdar Station Hospital has been conducting monitoring and surveillance to the travelers passing through the border bridge. They raised awareness on corona virus, its symptom and preventive measures. There was no found suspected case and the screening and surveillance will be continued daily, it is learnt.

According to the data on 2019 novel coronavirus reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 28th January 2020, there were 4,593 confirmed cases globally and 4,537 confirmed, 6,973 suspected, 976 severe and 106 deaths in China.

According to the report, there were 56 confirmed cases from 14countries outside of China,
