

The opening ceremony of 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at Myanmar International Convention Centre II (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw at 9 AM on October 24.
First, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Patron of the Leading Committee for Organizing the 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, Chairman of Leading Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin opened the competition by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
The second part of the ceremony was held at the conference hall of MICC-2 and the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an opening speech.
In his speech, the Prime Minister pointed out that every nationality in each country on the world possesses the national cultures and heritages of traditions and customs. Likewise, Myanmar national races have the own culture and national characteristics.
Own literature, culture, traditions and customs in genuine form of Myanmar style created and established by ancestors have been for over thousand years.
The tangible and intangible cultural heritage evidences found in the ancient Myanmar City states and in the literature and the evidences of contemporary records of neighboring countries show that Myanmar national races live with the religious teachings and advanced civilizations with the traditions, customs and fine arts along their lengthy history.
The SAC Chairman Prime Minister urged all people and youth to cherish and value the national culture and national dignity and preserve them as long as the world exists.
Next, the Chairman of Leading Committee for Organizing 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tint Oo Lwin clarified regarding with the arrangements for organizing the competition.
Then, the artistes and staff members from the fine art department of the Ministry of religious affair and culture presented dance with the song of “Let’s preserve the traditional heritage” composed by Alinka Kyawswer song composer U Maung Maung Latt.
At the end of the ceremony, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, Patron of the Leading Committee SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife and the members of leading committee cordially greeted the judges of veteran artistes.
The 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2023 is organized with the objectives to uplift national prestige and integrity and to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics, to explore, preserve and uplift the traditional cultural heritage of performing arts of ethnic nationals and national cultural characteristics to explore and preserve the traditional cultural heritage for the young generation and further propagate the national spirit and to support measures in the field of national culture ensuring the development, peace and tranquility of the State.
