Paris' Porte de la Chapelle Arena nears completion for summer Olympics

The Porte de la Chapelle Arena, the only Paris 2024 Games venue is near completion in the capital with an opening scheduled in early February. The Arena will host the Olympic badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events, as well as the Paralympic badminton and weightlifting events.

Aiming for promotion of local sports, there will also be two gymnasiums, open to local residents and associations. According to Deputy General Delegate of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic delegation, the 8,000 seats venue features 8,000 recycled plastic seats.

These recycled plastic seats represent the equivalent of tons of CO2 saved and to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible.
