People’s Military Service Law: Clarification by the Information Team

The leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council clarified rumors on Thursday regarding the enforcement of the People’s Military Service Law.

The Major General explained crucial facts that the public and youths should be aware of to prevent panic. He stressed that the destructive media outlets instigate the youths to join the insurgent groups, misleading the information. He reiterated that over 13 million eligible people under the law, about 50,000 to 60,000 of them could be able to train for military service within a year.

The young generation will be able to gain knowledge of the defense duty of the state while nurturing the habit of working in team spirit.Also all veterans who are fit and able to serve the military duty will not be called but only a necessary portion of the forces of war veterans will be employed. The leader of the Information Team updated that for the time being, there is no plan to train women for the military service under the Public Military Service Law.
