in Peru, the mayor of a town sent a letter marked with a bloodied hand print to President Martín Vizcarra protesting against the lack of medical equipment provided by the government to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mayor sent the letter to the president on Friday and posted a video of himself imprinting his bloodied hand on the letter saying it represented hundreds and thousands of people here in Peru. He specifically criticized the government for money spent on advertising social distancing measures, and for lockdown rules imposed as well as underfunding in medical supplies.
The mayor in question is under investigation by health authorities in Peru for claiming that chlorine dioxide can be used to treat the coronavirus.
