Public Transport Service: YPS card centers expand their services

Yangon Payment Service card (YPS) centers expand their services at some YBS bus stops in Yangon for the convenience of passengers who are using public transport services and YPS cards.

Lyan Cin Mang, Joint Secretary, Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC), said “As Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC), we are trying to provide good services and safety of the passengers who are commuting by YBS buses. To use YPS cards widely, card service shops are being expanded and the passengers can buy the cards at the G&G convenience stores.”

The upgrading of YBS service will be implemented the cooperation of YRTC and Asia Starmar Transport Intelligent Co.,Ltd. (ASTI).YPS cards can be bought at the bus stops and can be filled top up money depending on the bus lines. The passenger can fill at least 1,000 kyats to 50,000 kyats at most in the cards.

Lyan Cin Mang, Joint Secretary, Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC), said “ The passengers who are using YPS cards from the starting bus stop to the end get 20 kyats discount in payment 300 kyats. There are e-ticking machines in 2,289 buses of 55 bus lines. About 150,000 YPS cards were sold and among them, over 90,000 cards are active. In September, about 1.2 million passengers used YBS service and there were over 3,200 buses of 116 bus lines. There are over 3,300 buses of 116 bus lines and over 1.3 million passengers using the service this month.”

Yangon Region Public Transport Committee will implement the use of YPS cards services widely across the Yangon Region.
