Regional Development: SAC Chairman meets locals in Keng Tung

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with State/District/Township level departmental officials and town elders at the city hall of Keng Tung, Shan State (East) on Sunday. Chief Minister U Aung Aung reported on the data of Shan State and Regional development issues.

The town elders and departmental officials also reported on extension of flight operation to Keng Tung, upgrading the Government Technical High School and necessaries for the regional development respectively.

The Union Ministers and Shan State Chief Minister responded to the reports. In his speech, the Prime Minister said due to the lack of rule of law and instability in the region, production and trading of narcotic drugs has not being eradicated.  Action will be taken to combat the production and trading of narcotic drugs as well as the online gambling and fraud.

The Prime Minister added that it is necessary to carry out the agro businesses successfully in the region, encouraging the agro-based industries. Since Keng Tung area is endowed with beautiful natural landscapes and historical heritage, assisting for successful implementation of tourism industry, emphasis has to be made for promotion of tourism sector.

The Prime Minister urged administrative bodies, town elders and locals to cooperate for ensuring peace and development of the region and the State. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister met with town elders at Golden Triangle Guest house in Triangle Command and fulfilled the requirements for the development of the region.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister presented small statues of Maravijara Buddha Image and provided food stuff to town elders.
