Approximately 1,200 individuals dressed in samurai or other period costumes participated in a parade on Saturday at the Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo. Known as Hyakumonozoroi Sennin Musha Gyoretsu, the parade occurs biannually in spring and autumn.

This year's parade, held on a large scale, marked the first such event in five years, as previous editions had been either canceled or downscaled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants marched along a street for approximately 1 kilometer. Tourists gathered along the parade route to witness the impressive spectacle.
