Thailand plans to issue Mauy Thai trainer certificate

By March, the Sport Authority of Thailand will begin issuing certificates to Muay Thai trainers at centers to be setup in five major provinces: Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chon Buri and Bangkok.

Certificate holders will be approved by the government agencies including the Sport Authority of Thailand, Tourism and Sports Ministry, Department of Skill Development. As part of the program, a road show of short training class by some well-known Thai masterclass boxers will be held in Europe and Middle East offering one day training course for people in foreign countries.

PimolSrivikorn, who is responsible for sports on the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, said Muay Thai training standard had improved significantly as the training courses, testing and certification ware set to reach the international level.
