The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of four major holidays for Vietnamese people and also a season to promote and display its unique traditional cultures.

For a long time, the Mid-Autumn Festival has been the festival of children and become a cultural landmark with millennia of tradition. In this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, for the first time, ancient lantern models that were once considered lost have been revived and on display for tourists to enjoy.

This is a unique feature of the “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival” programme at Thăng Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site in Hanoi. These lanterns bring visitors back in time for a realistic Mid-Autumn Festival experience and show the differences between ancient and modern Vietnamese lanterns.
