UK military continues evacuations from Kabul

Britain's Ministry of Defence released images on Tuesday of Afghan civilians boarding a Royal Air Force plane which departed from Kabul en route to the UK a day earlier. Flight Lieutenant Pete Maughan who is leading the Air Movements Team on the ground said there were "a lot of people who are very desperate to escape", as they put civilians on planes on Monday. 

The man in charge of Britain's evacuation of between 6,000 to 7,000 people from Afghanistan said on Tuesday that Taliban commanders around the airport in Kabul have not sought to disrupt the effort. Britain is seeking to evacuate 4,000 U.K. nationals and Afghan allies who have helped over the past 20 years.
