Victory of Yangon Region Team: 2024 Regions and States U-25 Men Football Tournament

Yangon Region Team emerged as champions of the 2024 Regions and States U-25 Men Football Tournament after defeating Kachin State Team 3-2.

The final match, was enjoyed by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, along with SAC Joint Secretary, council members, union ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers, high-ranking officials, team managers, instructors, athletes, and football enthusiasts. Both teams remained deadlocked in a goalless draw after full time, necessitating extra time.

Yangon Region Team seized the lead with an opening goal just four minutes into the extra period. However, Kachin State Team managed to level the match at 24 minutes, setting the stage for a penalty shootout. In the end, Yangon Region Team emerged victorious.

Following the intense match, individual medals, honorary awards, and cash prizes were presented to the best players and top four teams. Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented the cash award and Championship Trophy to the triumphant Yangon Region Team.

The 2024 Regions and States U-25 Men Football Tournament, aimed at fostering the development of Myanmar football by nurturing exceptional talent, commenced on March 15th.
