On Saturday, the Vietnam’s National Assembly approved a government proposal to extend the validity of tourist e-visas from 30 to 90 days and allow multiple entries.

This extension is expected to create favorable conditions for international travelers coming to Vietnam and will contribute to the development of the tourism industry. According to the 2023 Vietnam Tourism Outlook, so far this year, the recovery of Vietnam's international tourism sector has only reached 23% of 2019's figure, lower than the global average rate of 55%. Vietnam is adapting and becoming more flexible in the race to boost the tourism industry's recovery after the pandemic.

This will serve as the foundation for tourism businesses to develop sustainably and equally with other countries in the region. Overall, in the first five months of the year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam was estimated to have reached nearly 4.6 million. This year, Vietnam's target is to welcome 8 million international visitors.
