Volleyball Tournament: Mandalay Region and Shan State emerged as Champions

The Mandalay Region Women's Team emerged as champions at the 2024 Regions and States Volleyball (Men/Women) Tournament, winning over the Yangon Region Team in a decisive match on Thursday.

The final match, held at the WunnaTheikdhi Stadium (C) in Nay Pyi Taw, was attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.In a competitive showdown, the Mandalay Region Women's Team defeated the Yangon Region Team with a straight 3-0 victory.

Both teams displayed exceptional skills, but Mandalay's performance was superior, securing their championship title.In the men's final, the Shan State Team claimed the championship by overcoming the Kayin State Team with a 3-1 victory.

The match was closely contested, but Shan State emerged victorious, showcasing their dominance in the tournament. The prize presentation ceremony then followed, with awarding honorary prize and cash to the best players, third prize winners, second prize winners and the champions of both men and women events. The Prime Minister presented the cash awards and Championship Trophies to the Shan State Men Team and Mandalay Region Women Team.

The 2024 Regions and States Volleyball (Men/Women) Tournament was organized for strengthening friendship among the players from regions and states, nurturing new generation selected players and promoting Myanmar volleyball standard. The tournament took place from 7th to 16th May at WunnaTheikdhi Stadium (C) with the participation of 13 men teams and 12 women teams.
