

The wild panda population in a nature reserve in southwest China's Sichuan has topped 100 after three decades of conservation efforts of wild animals. The Xuebaoding section of the Giant Panda National Park, located in Pingwu County of Sichuan's Mianyang City, is home to giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys and other rare wild animals.
When the nature reserve was founded in 1993, Xuebaoding recorded only 52 wild pandas.The nature reserve mainly uses fixed line transect and infrared footage monitor to determine the population of wild pandas.The reserve has constantly enhanced the efforts to preserve the animal by intensifying patrols, striking poaching and protecting the forest since it was founded, which have effected to expand the population of pandas in wild.
