Xi pays tribute to fallen national heroes on China's Martyrs' Day

Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the state attended a ceremony at Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Saturday morning to present flower baskets to fallen national heroes.

Participants attending the event, which was first held in 2014, lay flowers at the monument to remember martyrs who devoted their lives to the liberation of the Chinese people and the building of the People's Republic of China, which was founded on October 1, 1949.
