Xi stresses importance of community-based COVID-19 control, prevention

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that the key to winning the battle against COVID-19 is taking society-wide efforts to make all communities strong fortresses for fighting against the disease. There are two frontlines crucial for the battle against novel coronavirus – hospitals treating patients and saving lives, and communities working hard at epidemic prevention and control.

People of all ethnic groups across the country have fully implemented joint prevention and control measures and built a strong line of defense. Volunteers led by community officials worked hard day and night around the residential areas, serving and guarding the residents. Xi gave words of thanks to the joint efforts of the whole country and all people, the situation of epidemic prevention and control is improving nationwide, more and more enterprises have resumed production and people's lives are returning to normal, with positive results achieved in coordinated efforts to prevent and control the epidemic and promote economic and social development.
