3 officers shot dead in North Carolina

Three law enforcement officers were killed following a shootout near a domestic residence in an eastern suburb of Charlotte in North Carolina, authority said on Monday.

According to the police, a total of eight law enforcement officers were shot andone of the officers struck by gunfire was in critical condition. Aperson who is suspected to have fired at the officers was pronounced dead at the scene, while two further shooters have been taken in for questioning.
