Horgos Port has handled a total of over 35,000 freight trains to Europe and Central Asia since the launch of China-Europe Railway Express in 2016. Located on the border of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the port connects China and Kazakhstan by rail.

A total of 80 lines pass through the port, radiating to 18 countries and 45 cities and regions. In order to ensure the trains to operate to their full capacity, the staff of Horgos Railway Port works on shifts round the clock.  The inspections were simultaneously conducted as the trains are stationed and uploaded, reducing the time for clearance by an average of 30 minutes per train.
