Academic Visit: SAC Chairman visits universities in Yangon

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited West Yangon Technological University in Hlaingthaya Township on Saturday. Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and Rector Dr Kyi Soe reported on salient points of the University, prospect assessment for establishment of Polytechnic University, and convenient arrangements for the students.
The Prime Minister instructed the need to meet the characteristics of the universities, and to coordinate with experts for meeting the academic needs of the state. He pointed out that plans are underway to provide Polytechnic subjects for nurturing the qualified human resources for the state. He called for cooperative efforts of all concerned persons for success of the academic goals.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister and party inspected construction of 3-storey building in the university compound. The Prime Minister and party later proceeded to West Yangon University and heard reports on salient points of the university, research works and construction of new buildings and IT Center Rooms.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to shape the qualified education chain, nurturing the good citizens trained by qualified teachers. Efforts are being made to turn out qualified graduates who can contribute for socio-economic development and better society. He called for collective efforts of teachers in guiding correct path for the students throughout their live. After the meeting, the Prime Minister and party toured round the university and instructed the need for cultivating shady trees and beautifying works.
