Belgium takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Spain

Belgium took over the six-month rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union from Spain on January 1, 2024. The Presidency program of Belgium, which will assume the EU Presidency for the 13th time, was announced on 8 December 2023. The motto of the Belgian Presidency is “Protect. Strengthen. Prepare.”
