China's first self-built polar scientific research icebreaker Xue Long 2 has arrived in Hong Kong for a five-day visit on Monday.

The ship will be open to the public from Tuesday to Friday, with tickets available online. The icebreaker entered into service in 2019 and adopted a bidirectional icebreaking technology —the ship can break ice with its bow and stern. It left Shanghai in November last year to conduct the country’s 40th Antarctic expedition.
