Chinese Film Week: MOI Union Minister gave a remark at opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of Chinese Film Week co-organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and China Media Group (CMG) was held at Chinese Cultural Center on Min Ye Kyaw Swer Road, Ahlon Township of Yangon Region in the evening on 23rd November with the presence of the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn.

First, the Union Minister U MaungMaungOhn gave an opening remark saying that the Fil art is more Powerful of inspiring and influencing on the people among the art fields. The art works with the film art are able to integrate among the countries, people and cultures.

The Union Minister pointed out the good historical milestones in the cooperation between the China and Myanmar highlighting Pyu cultural diplomatic artists group performed the arts with musical instruments in China during Tang dynasty about (802 A.D).

The Pyu artistes’ cultural trip promoted friendship relation between China and Myanmar. Based on that friendship, the economic relation could improve regionally and internationally. The Union Minister also shed light on the co-produced “Poem song in the Legend” which is an artistic cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Yunnan TV of Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China.

In the relation among the countries and people, the film art can make the understanding and familiarity and brings closer of human to human, heart to heart. Myanmar films were screened at the Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival annually organized by the PRC and Lanmei International Film Week and the representative groups including representatives of the Ministry of Information, producers and directors attended the festival. Myanmar movies and short films sent to the Screening of Outstanding ASEAN- China Audio – Visual Program, 5th Guangxi Online Animation Competition, 2022 China- ASEAN Film Culture Week, 5th Lancang-Mekong International Film Week.

Then, the Union Minister expressed his trust that the 2023 Chinese Film Week will enable to accelerate the kinship relationship between the two countries and wished for organizing the event in coming years and more strength of China-Myanmar friendship.

Next, the responsible officials from the Chinese Cultural Center replied to the questions raised by the medias. Afterward, Union Minister U MaungMaungOhn, Deputy Head of Mission of Chinese Embassy, In-Charge of Chinese Cultural Center (Yangon), Chairman of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Chairman of Myanmar Press Council, Rector of Yangon University of Foreign Languages and the officials concerned from the Chinese Embassy posed for the documentary group photo. The film “Secretary Asher” depicted Chinese rural development was screened and the attendees enjoyed it.
