Chinese President Xi Jinping meets military delegation

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday attended a plenary meeting of the delegation of the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force at the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing.

During his remarks, Xi called on the armed forces to forge a stronger sense of mission, deepen reform and promote innovation and to enhance strategic capabilities in emerging fields. Xi also urged efforts to coordinate maritime military preparedness, maritime rights and interests, protection and marine economy development.
